Antique Prints, Drawings & Paintings; Modern Paintings   ~   lots 1-299
There are more than 200 lots from XVI to XVIII century in our Antique Prints, Drawings and Painting section. Top lots of this catalogue are some engraved works by Antonio Canova (Le Muse coi loro poeti e filosofi Minerva e Apollo, Scherzi di ninfe Grazie che danzano, Danzatrici, lot 29) and a beautiful collection of Francisco Goya’s engravings (lots 59-69), that includes the extremely rare first edition of Los Proverbios (1875, lot 59). Amongst the drawings and paintings, we would like to suggest you a fine drawing from the circle of Giulio Romano (lot 199) and an oil on copper in the manner of Scarsellino, Riposo nella fuga in Egitto (lot 212). For the modern paintings’ section, we suggest you the Giovanni Fattori’s oil Signora con ventaglio (lot 239) and the oil on wood by Silvestro Lega Campagna del Gabbro (lot 255). This section also includes some sculptures: the Ritratto di Giuseppe Verdi by Vincenzo Gemito (lot 289) and two chryselephantine sculptures by Fortunato Gori (lots 290 e 291).


Enzo Faraoni Collection   ~   lots 300-351
The Faraoni collection includes etchings and drawings belonged to Enzo Faraoni (Santo Stefano Magra 1920 – Impruneta 2017). The section includes drawings by Giovanni Fattori, Telemaco Signorini e Raffaello Sorbi, some sketches by Ottone Rosai and Lorenzo Viani. Top lots of this small collection are the rare Umberto Boccioni's engraving Ritratto di Mario Sironi (lot 309) and the etching Il merlo appeso by Luigi Bartolini (lotto 305).


Modern Prints & Drawings

Modern prints & drawings section includes more than 400 lots from Italian and foreign artists of XIX and XX centuries. Amongst the engravings we would like to suggest you beautiful etchings by Umberto Boccioni (lots 365 e 366), Luigi Bonazza (lots 370-375), the extremely rare Adolescence, one of the most important engraved work of Gerald Leslie Brockhurst (lot 382), the Max Klinger’s collections Brahmsphantasie (lot 433) and Intermezzi (lot 431), the portfolio La petite classe by Louis Legrand (lot 442), and the Odissea by Sigmund Lipinsky (lot 446). This section also includes an interesting picture collection of the circumnavigation expedition of Regia Nave Calabria from 1899 to 1901 (lot 352), a rare futuristic menu for Marinetti dated 1937 (lot 353) and, for the drawings, some works by Alberto Martini, an unpublished illustration for Eneide by Giovanni Battista Galizzi, Scilla (lot 568) and a rare watercolor attributed to John Duncan (lot 561).
