Auction room bidding, in person
It is possible to participate at Gonnelli auctions in person, in the auction room, through a complete registration that allows you to be assigned a participation number (paddle). Registration can be done at any time, even remotely, by filling in the appropriate form that can be downloaded from the site and sent by email, accompanied by a copy of a valid ID. Please note that, due to the Covid situation, you will need a valid Green Pass to enter the bidding room.

Telephone bidding
If it is not possible to be present in the auction room, our staff will call you during the auction for the lots indicated by you in the appropriate form. We must receive your participation requests 24 hours prior the start of the auction. You can request a telephone participation by filling out the specific offer form or through our website, directly from the page of the lot you are interested in.

Online bidding with Gonnelli Live
A quick and easy way to send your bids is to use the online catalogue after you completed the registration. It is possible to send your maximum bid, also knows as absentee bid, (rights excluded) directly from the lot page of your interest. Your personal account on Gonnelli website keeps the history of the offers you sent, which can be consulted at any time.

Written bids 
Download and complete the absentee bid form with lot number/s and the maximum bid you would like to submit (buyer's premium excepted). The auctioneer will manage your bids. Absentee and telephone bids forms should be sent to our offices within 24 hours before the beginning of the auction.

Gonnelli Live and Invaluable
Our auctions of books, prints, autographs, manuscripts and so on are transmitted in real time on our site through the "GONNELLI LIVE" service: a tool that allows you to follow the progress of the auction results and, after registering, make your offers directly as if you were present in the auction room. Also, you may follow and participate in Gonnelli auctions from your mobile phone by using Gonnelli App available for iOS devices.

You can also join the auction using the international live bidding platform Invaluable.

Download for free the GONNELLI app on your Iphone and participate in the auction with your MyGonnelli account. Not available for Android systems.


The purchased lots at Gonnelli Auctions will be subject to a fee equal to 25% of the hammer price up to €100,000 and 22% on the excess amount and are inclusive of auction rights and VAT. Rates apply to all auctions.


You will have a full month from the end of the auction to purchase any unsold artworks of goods (if they are still available). The goods can be purchased at their auction base plus commissions, and reservations are not accepted. During this period, the auction results will be available for consultation, online on our website.Collection of bought goods

Artworks purchased at auction can only be collected by appointment starting from the day following receipt of the proforma invoices.

If you’d like the purchased lots to be sent to you rather than picking them up, we will do our best to offer you a service that is as fast and as safe as possible. At the end of the auction we will send you your proforma invoice with the amount of shipping costs for the goods you bought. It isn’t necessary to fill in any other form, unless you indicate any changes in address with respect to that indicated in the header of the invoice: after the payment of the amount due to the Auction House, including transportation costs, we will send you the artworks you bought in auction.
What does the shipping service include

The shipping service includes insurance offered by Gonnelli Auction House for values up to €10.000. In the event of purchases exceeding € 10.000 and for lots of particular value and / or fragility (e.g. paintings, frames, drawings, etc.) we will be happy to advise specialised shipping agents and provide you with adequate assistance.

 IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT EXPORT LICENCE REQUESTS                                                             

The shipment of lots outside the Italian territory is subject to obtaining an export license, on the basis of Legislative Decree 42/2004 and subsequent provisions.
Obtaining the documents necessary for the export of the goods is the responsibility of the winning bidder; Gonnelli can, at the customer's request and upon payment of the purchase invoice, proceed with the request for licenses upon payment of € 50 for each lot.
If the customer does not want to entrust Gonnelli with the management of the export license, he can contact a private courier, upon signature of a liability release.
In any case, Gonnelli, acting on behalf of the customer, cannot be held responsible for the delay or refusal of obtaining the necessary export documentation, whose administrative times depend exclusively on the Export Office.
