Collection of 192 photographs and postcards depicting the Campo Mussolini in Cortina d'Ampezzo.
Not dated but 1933-1934
Photographs and photo postcards collected in leather bound albums. Protective veils preserved. Some photographs were taken by Foto Ghedina / Cortina. The dimensions of the photographs and postcards are various: from 175x255 mm, 140x90 mm and 85x63 mm (the smallest). Album size: 230x320 mm. (192)
The 'Campo Mussolini', in Cortina d'Ampezzo, at the beginning of the 1930s housed about 300 children of Italians abroad, to 'restore the spirit and the body under the Dolomites'. The images collected in this album portray the country and the landscape of Cortina, the entry into the camp with the great inscription 'Campo Mussolini avant-garde abroad. Italian bundles abroad', campsites, campers while performing gymnastic activities, marches, gatherings, preparation of meals, distribution of food etc.
